The fourth bi-annual Tahitian Pearl Trophy Awards took place last night at Home House, Portman Square, when 10 of the UK’s brightest jewellery designers were recognised for their design talents and awarded with the prestigious Tahitian Pearl Trophy. The country’s top jewellers competed alongside one another in what has become one of the world’s premiere jewellery design competitions, attracting the talents of designers from over 36 countries.

Perles de Tahiti hosted the star studded Awards in honour of the entrants of this years competition, and were delighted that British actress Anna Chancellor, presented the Awards. The winners from each of the ten categories were selected by a specialist panel of judges including Bay Garnett (stylist), Jemima French (Frost French), Carol Woolton (Vogue), Kate Reardon (Times) and Jenni Middleton (Retail Jeweller).

All the special guests arrived at the event in style with a fleet of chauffeur driven Jaguar XJ’s on call. The champagne reception was attended by Donna Air, Bay Garnett, Anna Chancellor and Sir David McAlpine and Angharad Rees.

In addition many UK’s top jewellery designers will be attended Assia Webster, Shaun Leane, Boodle and Dunthorne and Mikimoto together with members of the fashion press from some of the UK’s top consumer magazines.

The winners of the UK Tahitian Pearl Trophy heats will go forward to compete in the international competition to contend against jewellers from all over the world for the coveted International Tahitian Pearl Trophy 2006.
