It was the first time when jewellery designers from countries of Eastern Europe participated in a joint competition organized by the Perles de Tahiti G.I.E.The jury evaluation as well as the prize-giving ceremony followed by the gala were held on October 5, 2007 in the Gallery Belvedere in Budapest, one of the most prestigous Art Gallery in Europe. The Gallery has two levels: both the jury evaluation and the exhibition of the jewelleries in the following days were performed in the basement while the award-giving ceremony and reception were held on the ground level.
51 participants have represented six countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia). Altogether 76 entries were prepared for evaluation. The jury members had a very exhausting job since due to the perfect accomplishment, rich ideas and large number of entries they were often in trouble to choose the three best ones. It was maily the case in male jewellery and ring categories where there were 14 and 15 entries respectively.
In addition to the awards special gifts were presented to the winners: Polynesian tapas to the 1st-prize winners, kukui-leis to the 2nd-prize winners and Tahitian tiaras to the 3rd-prize winners.
Both the winners and guests enjoyed the marvellous atmosphere of the gallery and the great music served by the best-known bar-pianist in Hungary.
